The Town of Ocean Isle Beach in conjunction with McGill Associates has developed both a System-Wide Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan as well as a Town Park Master Plan for the Town Park property located adjacent to the Museum of Coastal Carolina.

The System-Wide Parks and Recreation Plan consists of the review of existing recreation programming, identification of undeveloped recreation opportunity sites, recommendations for existing park improvements, recommendations for future park sites and facilities, and help identifying the cost for future improvements.

*Approved at April 10th, 2018 Board of Commissioners Meeting - To view plan CLICK HERE

The Town Park Master Plan consists of a plan specific for the center of the island park area.  This plan includes all site amenities, facility recommendations, phasing plan, and a projection of project costs.  The Town Park Master Plan is shown below and will include:  New Outdoor Performance Stage, New Playground, New Interactive Water Fountain, New Restroom Building, Pergola Gathering Areas, New Promenade (Walking Trail), Open Space/Spectator Area, Decorative Lighting, Parking and Landscaping.

The North Carolina Parks and Recreation Authority has approved a grant in the amount of $498,900 from the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund for the construction of a new Town Park to be located at 11 East Second Street. (Beside Museum)

We anticipate construction for this new park will begin Spring 2019.   The Town is working in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce and the Ocean Isle Beach Property Owners Association for possible relocation areas within the Town for the 2019 Oyster Festival and Summer Concert Series.
