The Town of Ocean Isle Beach has declared a State of Emergency effective Friday, July 31, 2020 at 4:00pm due to the approach and potential impacts of Hurricane Isaias.
There will be a Mandatory Evacuation of ALL Renters/Vacationers/Guests by Saturday, August 1st, 2020 at NOON (12pm) All Renters/Vacationers/Guests must vacate and leave rental properties/hotels PRIOR to the 12pm deadline. This includes properties rented through rental agencies, VRBOs, Air B&B, and other private individuals.
Property Owners and Residents are strongly encouraged to begin making preparations for the storm now and be prepared for the possibility of a voluntary or mandatory evacuation of the island.
Please remember that the bridge will close to traffic (in both directions) once sustained wind gusts reach 50mph.
As of Friday 7/31/2020 at 3pm Hurricane Isaias was located at 22.2N 75.2W and moving NW at 16mph.
Current winds are sustained at 75mph. This is a Category 1 storm and based on current models, the track is predicted to impact our area beginning Sunday evening and throughout Monday.
Be aware of increased rip current threats as storm approaches our area. Please secure any loose outdoor objects.
