MEETING CALLED TO ORDER:
Mayor Smith welcomed everyone to the Open Forum and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to hear remarks and concerns of property owners and residents. Mayor Smith stated that the Board would not take any official action on matters presented during tonight’s meeting. Mayor Smith opened the floor to anyone who would like to speak and asked that they stand and state their name and address for the record.
Mrs. Carol Grantham, 37 Leland Street, asked if the Town was continuing to place traps for feral cats in areas were the animals have become a nuisance. Mrs. Daisy Ivey stated that Street Department employees continue to place traps on private property at the request of the property owner. Mrs. Ivey stated that the situation concerning the feral cats was improving.
Commissioner Dean Walters complimented the Utility Department’s response to a recent water line break. Commissioner Walters stated that Town employees responded within twenty minutes. Mr. Larry Sellers stated that Utility Department employees are very dependable in responding to after-hour emergencies.
With no additional guests requesting to speak, Mayor Smith thanked everyone for attending and adjourned the open forum.
