UPDATE
In February 2002, the Town completed the Natural Canal Dredging Project. This project consisted of a 40 foot wide 6 foot deep box cut.
At the February 8, 2005 Board of Commissioners meeting, the Board voted
unanimously to approve an engineer proposal to obtain hydrographic surveying
along with engineering fees for maintenance dredging of approximately 18,500
linear feet of dredge area. This area consists of four residential canals
located between Laurinburg and Concord (Natural Canals), commercial canals
located between Causeway and Laurinburg as well as the entrance canals located
between Raeford and Union Streets and Cumberland and Moore Streets respectively.
In addition, this project would include a portion of the western end of the
header canal. |
